Challenge
Eurowings flies the largest route network in Europe. To ensure comprehensive convenience and flexibility in travel planning, QA must be able to cover mass device tests. Critical errors in booking routes can lead to immense losses in customer satisfaction and revenue. It is important to counteract this with fast bug reports and direct communication with the dev department.

How did we start the project?
Our team has been supporting the software development for Eurowings Digital as testing partner since 2015. The collaboration began with the manual testing of the Eurowings app. Appmatics now supports functional app and website testing as a QA service provider.
Over time, a large team of our trained testers has been established for the joint project. In a short space of time, we were able to integrate QA processes that we can customize for different test cases and maintain quality assurance.

Strategy and
measures
The QA strategy consists of specific measures.
1) Testing: During testing, the Eurowings app is tested on a variety of device and OS combinations using our large inventory of physical devices.
2) Web-Testing: As part of the web testing, the Eurowings page is tested using various browsers. The focus is particularly on the critical functions, from the flight search to check-out.
3) Risk-based approach: In order to achieve the most efficient results possible, we follow a risk-based approach in which the most important functions are tested most intensively and less important features are filled with reduced resources.
Result
Thanks to comprehensive app and web testing, successful relaunches and feature releases can be constantly ensured. This guarantees flexible and convenient travel bookings.
In addition to testing, we always take the approach of supporting our partners in an advisory capacity. We therefore convert the insights gained during testing into concrete recommendations for action. The cooperation with Eurowings Digital is characterized by a high degree of openness towards new suggestions.
